Incorporating Ring Bearers and Flower Girls in your Ceremony

Having ring bearers and flower girls for your ceremony can be so cute but can also be a bit tricky. Here are some answers to common questions people have about choosing a ring bearer and flower girl and what’s involved in the role.

The usual age range for kids in these roles is between 4 to 10 years old, any younger they might be too shy and unpredictable. However, if you have your heart set on a child who might be too young to carry on this role on their own (or maybe can’t even walk yet), another option might be to have them pulled down the aisle in a wagon by an older child or an adult.

Should your ring bearer actually carry the rings?

Ah, a very common question we always get and our answer is always "How old is the ring bearer?" If they are very young, we recommend having them carry stunt rings down the aisle and pretend to hand them over to the Best Man or Maid of Honor. We also recommend including them in your wedding rehearsal and getting them cute outfits!

What if I want something non-traditional?

When it comes to planning your ceremony, it’s important to remember the tone and mood you want to set. If you're a non-traditional couple and you want something fun, there are different ways to reflect this in your Ceremony.

Flower or Beer Dudes

If you have outgoing and fun friends who want to skip their way down the aisle spreading joy with flowers or beers, these roles are perfect for them! This works if you have multiple best friends and not enough spots for bridesmaids/groomsmen.

Ring or Flower Ladies

Having a grandparent fill the role of ring bearer or flower girl is also an excellent option if you’ve decided to have an adult-only wedding. Imagine how cute Nana would look with a basket of flowers!

Pup of Honor

If you want your fur baby to be part of one of the most important days of your life, they could step in and have a role in your ceremony, just imagine the pictures! Furever Us provides Wedding Pet Care services so your pet can be cared for before, during, and after the ceremony.
