Wedding Processional
The Processional is an important part of the ceremony, it sets the tone for the couple's entrance, depending if you want something formal or fun. Here are some tips to consider for a memorable processional:
Plan the order
Decide who will walk down the aisle first, and in what order. Consider who's walking down the aisle (parents, grandparents, special guests) and if they need to be escorted. Choose to have the officiant lead the processional or wait at the altar for you.
Time the music
Select music that reflects your personalities and sets the tone for your ceremony. Don't forget to plan the timing of the music with the order of the procession.
Coordinate with your vendors
Work with the venue staff or planner to coordinate the processional. Make sure the DJ knows the order of the procession and when to cue the music.
Consider the aisle width
Check the aisle to ensure it is wide enough for everyone to walk comfortably.
Keep the pace slow and steady
Encourage the wedding party to walk slowly and steadily down the aisle. Groomsmen should walk with their hands to their sides, bridesmaids holding their bouquets to their hips.
Be flexible
Be prepared for unexpected changes or delays. Have a backup plan if someone is running late or the music doesn't start on time. If you have a professional officiant, they will certainly know how to improvise without anyone knowing.
Practice makes perfect
Have a rehearsal before the wedding day to practice, even if it's a small wedding! Word to the wise: include your Officiant in your rehearsal so you can practice all the movements regarding the ceremony, like your exchange of vows and rings.
